About
Megan: Before signing on to study with the D.K. Foundation, Megan did
her own research through books (Liz Greene, March & McEvers, Pottenger/Dobyns,
Rudhyar, Gail Fairfield, Stephen Arroyo). All of which she found very
insightful and to which she still refers.
Wanting to study with CPA (Centre for Psychological Astrology), she
discovered they did not have a correspondence course and so searched the
web and found there were over 4000 sites to choose from! She
narrowed it down to esoteric astrology which
is how she finds herself with us.

Megan
lives in California, USA and teaches dance and gymnastics to
children.

As well
as her astrological studies she is taking a natural healing course
and has a course in iridology lined up for the summer or 2003. She
considers that all these branches of study complement each other and
expects to take her astrological knowledge into the field of healing
eventually.

About
the Series Are you making the
Correct Statement
This
series is based upon the following assumptions:
1.)
The Sun is a star and not a planet. It is the representative of a higher
order than the planets and in the horoscope should be understood to stand
for the Egoic plane, through
which the first aspect of the soul expresses itself.
The
Sun represents our identity or who we understand ourself to be.
Developing that identity is the prime requirement of the lifetime.
This means expressing the qualities of the sign and being active in the
area of life in which the Sun is found and consciously linking in those
areas of life indicated by the house that the Sun rules accidentally.
The
Sun is the natural ruler of House 5 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply awareness of individuality and
creative capacity, qualities that traditionally the father encourages.
For
this reason, aspects to the Sun describe the experiences with the father
around the issue of developing and expressing identity.
2.)
The Moon is a satellite of the Earth and the relationship between the two
is one of mutual dependency as, energetically, it is fed by all that dies
on Earth and, in turn, regulates organic life on Earth through which life
takes form.
In
a horoscope, the Moon
represents the past - past forms, past identities, past experiences - that
are recorded in our psyche and expressed through our emotional
natures.
The
Moon also represents the mother, the function of whom is to preserve
continuity, and the home that is the place of shelter for the form.
For
this reason, aspects to the Moon describe the experiences with the mother
around the issue of receiving nurturing.
The
Moon is the natural ruler of House 4 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply the conditioning effect of the
past from the family, the culture of birth, racial heritage.
3)
Our Sun position describes our true identity.

Sun
in Virgo
With
the Sun In Virgo a person is learning how life functions in an organized
manner down to the tiniest detail, and that the efficiency of one's work
helps in maintaining a proper functioning society. There is a developing
understanding of the necessity of maintaining a healthy body and mind to
broaden one's usefulness. There is
frequently an excessive interest in medicinal remedies.
The Virgo has a tendency to be critical of anything out of order,
out of place or imperfect until the individual can personally be useful
and feel a sense of duty, as in a job or vocation, and will always have to
struggle to transcend the dreariness brought by the reductionism inherent
in the Virgoan perspective.
Sun
in the Sixth House
The
sixth house is the House of Virgo and relates to the process of responding
to the call of duty. The need to be useful is the corner stone of the
identity and without suitable work, a sixth house person can become
chronically ill or a prey to neurotic complaints (usually eating
disorders) and hypochondria.
Statement
of the Sixth House Sun
I
entered this life to be useful. As a child I found that everything had a
particular function. I wanted to know how everything functioned down to
the tiniest detail. I found that for anything to operate and perform
correctly, such as a clock, that each part of it had a particular
function, and it was essential that all parts were kept in good order for
it to work properly. I became exacting seeking perfection of myself in
every detail, in all situations. Everything around me has to be perfectly
arranged and work correctly. I am particular about my health, my diet and
my clothing: I like to look and feel clean and neat.
When things don’t go right I become very critical of myself, and
others. It is difficult working with others because they never seem to get
it right or appreciate my willingess to help. With animals it
is different. Animals do no
wrong. They are helpless creatures that need and respond
to attention and care. I surround myself with loving pets to care
for, which gives me a sense of purpose. When I feel useful, work takes on
new meaning. It becomes an endeavor to help and to respond to the 'call of
duty' in order to perpetuate the health and well being of 'all God's
creatures great and small'.
Moon
in Virgo
With
the Moon in Virgo an individual is instinctively modest, precise,
industrious, analytical, methodical, efficient, gives much attention to
detail and is concerned with health. The individual thrives on a healthy,
clean and organized environment to live and work in. There is a tendency
to interfere and react in a fussy and critical manner when insecure and
stressed. The mother would be precise in caring for the health and welfare
of the child but at times would be overly critical of the child's
weaknesses and lack of attention to detail.
Moon
in the Sixth House
An
individual with the Moon in the sixth house has a memory of being
efficient in helping others when necessary and responding to the 'call of
duty'. The challenge for the individual with the Moon in the sixth house
is to work at cooperating with others.
Statement
of Sixth House Moon:
I
remember being ready to work and offer my services when needed. I feel
secure when I am in a clean and well-organized environment, and when
everyone around me is doing their job correctly. I want to feel useful and
when I don't I tend to become ill, unable to do anything. But I am also
capable of turning everything into a chore, burdening myself with
responsibilities and taking the pleasure out of anything. I find it hard
to relax and leave things for later. I know others take advantage of my
willingness to help and do not always respect me.
