About
Megan: Before signing on to study with the D.K. Foundation, Megan did
her own research through books (Liz Greene, March & McEvers, Pottenger/Dobyns,
Rudhyar, Gail Fairfield, Stephen Arroyo). All of which she found very
insightful and to which she still refers.
Wanting to study with CPA (Centre for Psychological Astrology), she
discovered they did not have a correspondence course and so searched the
web and found there were over 4000 sites to choose from! She
narrowed it down to esoteric astrology which
is how she finds herself with us.

Megan
lives in California, USA and teaches dance and gymnastics to
children.

As well
as her astrological studies she is taking a natural healing course
and has a course in iridology lined up for the summer or 2003. She
considers that all these branches of study complement each other and
expects to take her astrological knowledge into the field of healing
eventually.

About
the Series Are you making the
Correct Statement
This
series is based upon the following assumptions:
1.)
The Sun is a star and not a planet. It is the representative of a higher
order than the planets and in the horoscope should be understood to stand
for the Egoic plane, through
which the first aspect of the soul expresses itself.
The
Sun represents our identity or who we understand ourself to be.
Developing that identity is the prime requirement of the lifetime.
This means expressing the qualities of the sign and being active in the
area of life in which the Sun is found and consciously linking in those
areas of life indicated by the house that the Sun rules accidentally.
The
Sun is the natural ruler of House 5 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply awareness of individuality and
creative capacity, qualities that traditionally the father encourages.
For
this reason, aspects to the Sun describe the experiences with the father
around the issue of developing and expressing identity.
2.)
The Moon is a satellite of the Earth and the relationship between the two
is one of mutual dependency as, energetically, it is fed by all that dies
on Earth and, in turn, regulates organic life on Earth through which life
takes form.
In
a horoscope, the Moon
represents the past - past forms, past identities, past experiences - that
are recorded in our psyche and expressed through our emotional
natures.
The
Moon also represents the mother, the function of whom is to preserve
continuity, and the home that is the place of shelter for the form.
For
this reason, aspects to the Moon describe the experiences with the mother
around the issue of receiving nurturing.
The
Moon is the natural ruler of House 4 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply the conditioning effect of the
past from the family, the culture of birth, racial heritage.
3)
Our Sun position describes our true identity.

Sun
in Scorpio
With
the Sun In Scorpio a person is becoming aware of the emotional nature
through deep or intense emotional experiences with others. What arises are
a series of crises in which one is faced with the challenge of 'rising
above them' and coping with the sense of vulnerability created by this
house. It promotes the illusion that acceptance and affirmation of others,
as shown by their love, is essential to one's survival.
At times there is a feeling of being on the battlefield with the
oppositions that have to be dealt with, inside and out. But, these
experiences can result in a great understanding and psychic sensitivity to
the psychological motivation of self and others.
Sun
in the Eighth House
The
eighth house is the House of Scorpio and relates to the process of
transforming the desire nature.
There
is a tendency to become obsessed with the power of sex/money until,
through a profoundly deep emotional involvement; one enters the depths of,
what feels like, a soul experience. Although an encounter of this nature
may seem like a 'match made in heaven', in the beginning, it eventually
brings to light the dark forces of one's desire nature, which all have the
same intention: that of binding another to us emotionally by any means.
Once recognized for what it is, it may then be dealt with and transformed.
In the eighth house, the process of transformation always involves denying
the obsession, the emotional energy that feeds it, so that we may be
freed.
Statement
of the Eighth House Sun
I
entered this life to develop compassion and sensitivity to the positive
and negative motivations of others by recognizing and taking control of
the dark psychological or psychic forces of my own nature. I have always
been fascinated with understanding the power of nature in all aspects. I
felt vulnerable in intimate situations with another where I experienced
feelings that were overwhelming and unexplainable. I felt empowered in
situations in which I was in control of another's emotions. I was
intrigued by the power of sex and money and for a time I became obsessed
by the desire for both and would manipulate others for my personal sense
of power. It took a series of personal and spiritual crisis in which I had
no control to awaken to the consequences of my obsessions. It is through
my emotional pain and loss that I began to empathize with the pains of
others. This led to my search for true understanding of the underlying
forces and energies of the material and spiritual world.
Moon
in Scorpio
With
the Moon in Scorpio an individual is instinctively possessive, private,
intense, psychically sensitive. The individual thrives on passion and
becomes deeply committed to anything or anyone who exhumes passionate
feelings. There is a tendency toward suspicion and obsession when insecure
and stressed. The mother would be deeply loving and committed to the
emotional well being of the child. But at times her intensity would be
overwhelming, smothering and manipulative.
Moon
in the Eighth House
An
individual with the Moon in the eighth house has a memory of emotional
loss and therefore tries to bind others to avoid rejection. A person with
the Moon in this house has usually experienced a parent whose neediness
controlled the child's life. Later, the adult controls others by creating
dependence. A person with an eighth house Moon can make big personal
sacrifices in the immediate term as part of the strategy of securing
another's affection in the longer term. The
challenge for the person is to find a way our the co-dependency trap.
Statement
of Eighth House Moon:
I
remember the experience of soul union with another. I remember the pain of
separation through death or divorce. I fear rejection more than anything
else, and have troubling dreams of abandonment. I want to share my life
with another at the most intimate level so that I can feel connected to my
soul, and will sacrifice all
else and pay any price in my attempt to find emotional security.
