About
Megan: Before signing on to study with the D.K. Foundation, Megan did
her own research through books (Liz Greene, March & McEvers, Pottenger/Dobyns,
Rudhyar, Gail Fairfield, Stephen Arroyo). All of which she found very
insightful and to which she still refers.
Wanting to study with CPA (Centre for Psychological Astrology), she
discovered they did not have a correspondence course and so searched the
web and found there were over 4000 sites to choose from! She
narrowed it down to esoteric astrology which
is how she finds herself with us.

Megan
lives in California, USA and teaches dance and gymnastics to
children.

As well
as her astrological studies she is taking a natural healing course
and has a course in iridology lined up for the summer or 2003. She
considers that all these branches of study complement each other and
expects to take her astrological knowledge into the field of healing
eventually.

About
the Series Are you making the
Correct Statement
This
series is based upon the following assumptions:
1.)
The Sun is a star and not a planet. It is the representative of a higher
order than the planets and in the horoscope should be understood to stand
for the Egoic plane, through
which the first aspect of the soul expresses itself.
The
Sun represents our identity or who we understand ourself to be.
Developing that identity is the prime requirement of the lifetime.
This means expressing the qualities of the sign and being active in the
area of life in which the Sun is found and consciously linking in those
areas of life indicated by the house that the Sun rules accidentally.
The
Sun is the natural ruler of House 5 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply awareness of individuality and
creative capacity, qualities that traditionally the father encourages.
For
this reason, aspects to the Sun describe the experiences with the father
around the issue of developing and expressing identity.
2.)
The Moon is a satellite of the Earth and the relationship between the two
is one of mutual dependency as, energetically, it is fed by all that dies
on Earth and, in turn, regulates organic life on Earth through which life
takes form.
In
a horoscope, the Moon
represents the past - past forms, past identities, past experiences - that
are recorded in our psyche and expressed through our emotional
natures.
The
Moon also represents the mother, the function of whom is to preserve
continuity, and the home that is the place of shelter for the form.
For
this reason, aspects to the Moon describe the experiences with the mother
around the issue of receiving nurturing.
The
Moon is the natural ruler of House 4 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply the conditioning effect of the
past from the family, the culture of birth, racial heritage.
3)
Our Sun position describes our true identity.

Sun
in Sagittarius
With
the Sun In Sagittarius a person needs to develop the inquisitiveness that
leads to exploring and stretching beyond the confines of what is known. The
quest of the Sagittarian is for a context in which to find the purpose of
oneself. There is a need to know what are the boundaries and
limitations by testing one's freedom to be, to think, to move. This
individual needs to challenge the impossible both physically and mentally.
It is in this way that the truth of one's limitations can be understood,
as well as the decision to direct oneself toward a specific goal.
Sun
in the Ninth House
The
ninth house is the House of Sagittarius and relates to the process of
understanding the meaning of one's existence in
relation to a higher order that makes sense of life's experiences. This
often involves exploring theories and concepts.
It is in this house that one questions the laws of nature, known and
unknown, form and spirit, matter and energy and defines his own belief
system. There is a tendency
to profess the ideas, beliefs or dogma of a spiritual/religious/ethnic
group or teacher until one becomes dissatisfied and begins to explore new
ideas and ways of thinking. This may lead the individual to foreign lands
or have interactions with foreigners. Exploring
life's variety, uncovering its limitless possibilities and aspiring toward
what is perceived to be the right direction, is the focus of this house.
Statement
of the Ninth House Sun
I
entered this life to understand why I am here living this life and to seek
the cause, purpose and meaning of all I experience. As a child I defied
restrictions; it was never easy for me to sit still just because I was
told. I needed to know why I should sit still when there was something
more interesting that held my attention.
I was
bored by facts and information because I sought knowledge and direct
experience. I challenged my boundaries, physically and mentally. I
was taught to believe certain religious and spiritual ideas that gave
rules to live by. But I found foreign ways of thinking and lifestyles that
contradicted what I had learned and left my mind burning with questions.
There were so many different cultures with values unlike my own. There
were ironies in life, like; why with all the water in the ocean, you can't
drink it. I wanted answers to the questions that the belief system I grew
up with didn't provide. I needed to differentiate between the laws of man
and the laws of nature and to understand the laws of nature that science
didn't answer. I found myself on a path of self-discovery, for the
questions I asked, led to answers that needed to be tested. In time I was
called upon for advice, to teach, to give lectures and to share my
understandings with others.
Moon
in Sagittarius
With
the Moon in Sagittarius an individual has the memory of racing around the
world without restrictions.
The
person is instinctively freedom loving, adventurous, mentally curious,
inquisitive, straightforward. This individual cannot be tied down and
thrives on challenges that defy limitations. There is a tendency toward
hyperactive tension and claustrophobia when insecure and stressed. The
mother would give this free spirit room to explore both physically and
mentally, but at times she may be too permissive and not give the child
the direction that is needed, or unduly
influenced in the performance of the maternal role by religious or
spiritual ideals.
Moon
in the Ninth House
An
individual with the Moon in the ninth house has a memory of being on a
spiritual quest, exploring the unknown and questioning every facet of
limitation that is encountered. There is usually a desire to travel
anywhere and everywhere, including by means of
the astral plane. A person with the Moon in this house tends to dream
vividly of other times and other places and one of the parents may come
from a different culture from the one in which the child is being raised.
Even when this is not he case, the child's own features may have a foreign
cast. The mother encourages the child to question all ideas and
beliefs. This person feels secure in searching for answers. The challenge
for the individual with ninth house moon is to practice what one preaches
or theorizes.
Statement
of Ninth House Moon
I
remember seeking understanding and guidance in walking a spiritual path.
I yearn for the days when life was simpler, purer and there was more
awareness of spiritual values. Sometimes I can recall these times in
dreams.
I am very idealistic and live my
life by what I believe in. I fear being wrong and sometimes refuse to see
another person's point of view if it contradicts my own. I am interested
in the diversity of cultures and feel restricted in my own. I need to
explore the world and try to find a place for myself in it.
