About
Megan: Before signing on to study with the D.K. Foundation, Megan did
her own research through books (Liz Greene, March & McEvers, Pottenger/Dobyns,
Rudhyar, Gail Fairfield, Stephen Arroyo). All of which she found very
insightful and to which she still refers.
Wanting to study with CPA (Centre for Psychological Astrology), she
discovered they did not have a correspondence course and so searched the
web and found there were over 4000 sites to choose from! She
narrowed it down to esoteric astrology which
is how she finds herself with us.

Megan
lives in California, USA and teaches dance and gymnastics to
children.

As well
as her astrological studies she is taking a natural healing course
and has a course in iridology lined up for the summer or 2003. She
considers that all these branches of study complement each other and
expects to take her astrological knowledge into the field of healing
eventually.

About
the Series Are you making the
Correct Statement
This
series is based upon the following assumptions:
1.)
The Sun is a star and not a planet. It is the representative of a higher
order than the planets and in the horoscope should be understood to stand
for the Egoic plane, through
which the first aspect of the soul expresses itself.
The
Sun represents our identity or who we understand ourself to be.
Developing that identity is the prime requirement of the lifetime.
This means expressing the qualities of the sign and being active in the
area of life in which the Sun is found and consciously linking in those
areas of life indicated by the house that the Sun rules accidentally.
The
Sun is the natural ruler of House 5 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply awareness of individuality and
creative capacity, qualities that traditionally the father encourages.
For
this reason, aspects to the Sun describe the experiences with the father
around the issue of developing and expressing identity.
2.)
The Moon is a satellite of the Earth and the relationship between the two
is one of mutual dependency as, energetically, it is fed by all that dies
on Earth and, in turn, regulates organic life on Earth through which life
takes form.
In
a horoscope, the Moon
represents the past - past forms, past identities, past experiences - that
are recorded in our psyche and expressed through our emotional
natures.
The
Moon also represents the mother, the function of whom is to preserve
continuity, and the home that is the place of shelter for the form.
For
this reason, aspects to the Moon describe the experiences with the mother
around the issue of receiving nurturing.
The
Moon is the natural ruler of House 4 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply the conditioning effect of the
past from the family, the culture of birth, racial heritage.
3)
Our Sun position describes our true identity.

Sun
in Pisces
With
the Sun in Pisces a person is learning to transfer devotion from the needs
of the personal self into devotion and response to the needs of humanity,
through artistic inspiration, acts of compassion and intuitive wisdom.
This person is learning to be sensitive to the pains and sufferings of
others, and thereby feel deep compassion for those who are treated
unjustly. The Piscean is something of a chameleon, who can identify with
anyone from a saint to a derelict. There may be a tendency to withdraw
into a nebulous existence that precludes material or social responsibility
or become a victim of circumstance or fate dwelling in a state of
self-pity and guilt, until there is a willingness to direct one's own
destiny in light of the soul. At times this individual may act as a
soldier going into battle for justice, due to a passionate imagination to
'right a wrong'. The challenge for the Piscean is to make a distinction
between astral impressions and intuitive perception, and learn to attune
to the inner voice of the intuition or soul as the source of guidance and
respond accordingly.
Sun
in the Twelfth House
The
twelfth house is the House of Pisces and relates to the process of
disengagement from devotion to personal desires to devotion to the needs
of the collective group, or humanity. It deals with reparation, atonement
or clearing up the personal mistakes or karma of the past, and reorienting
the self in a direction that is not self-centered. Life experiences bring
about situations in which the individual becomes consciously aware of
sorrow, pain and loss. This has the effect of creating an urge to seek
deep within for guidance and transcendence or to escape pain and
responsibility through mind-altering substances, and to gain a sense of
belonging through joining forces with others. This may lead a person to
criminal associations and activities, for which the penalty may be
imprisonment. There is great psychic sensitivity that may be used to
positive or negative effect. Delusion and megalomania are also associated
with the twelfth house. The twelfth house individual tends to be private
and secretive. Intervals of seclusion are necessary for twelfth house
individuals in order to assimilate and tie together the strings of
experience and bring each phase of personal entrapment to an end. As the
individual attunes to the soul, then each measure of true soul expression,
whether through music, art, education, science, economics, spirituality or
politics may offer upliftment for the collective state of mankind.
Statement
of the Twelfth House Sun
I
entered this life to become consciously aware of the sorrows of mankind,
and through my abilities help to alleviate it. When I was young my
feelings were very sensitive and it became clear to me how bullying, rude
and mean others could be to those who where different, disabled or
impoverished in some way. My imagination was strong with impressions that
were inspirational, beautiful insightful and transcending, but it was also
strong with fears regrets and guilt. At times I couldn't tell the
difference between dreaming and being awake, because my dreams were so
vivid and life-like. I felt lost. I began to distrust everyone and built
up in my mind that everything revolved around a conspiracy, and I would
bind myself to my own private environment. There was a sense of my
direction and flashes of an idea that were perpetually urging me to
manifest them, but I kept ignoring them and would try to fulfill my
personal dreams, which would always seem to end up in tears and regret.
When I decided to materialize the ideas that I kept ignoring, the doors
flew open and each step of the way was shown as if by magic. I did not
matter any more. What mattered was that which needed to be done. I felt
contentment within and in sync with the flow and unity of life but sadness
at the suffering of humanity is never far away.
Moon
in Pisces
With
the Moon in Pisces an individual has a memory of seclusion and being
alienated or cut off from others. The person tends to be private and have
no worldly ambitions or well defined cultural attachments. The person is
instinctively compassionate, self-sacrificing, forgiving, tolerant,
psychically sensitive, mystical, visionary, evasive. This individual seeks
freedom from sorrow and hopes for contentment and bliss. There is a
tendency toward withdrawing and escaping through drugs/alcohol or
imagination when insecure and stressed. Sometimes there is an overwhelming
feeling of helplessness, guilt and self-pity. The mother is probably
self-sacrificing and would do anything and everything for the child but
she may appear to be a victim of circumstances and somewhat sad as a
result. Usually at least one of the parents is an alcoholic or neglecting
in some way.
Moon
in the Twelfth House
An
individual with the Moon in the twelfth house is making a break in
consciousness from the kind of experiences that, up to that time, have
been formative of separative personality consciousness. The mother
symbolizes continuity, and the homeland gives a sense
of belonging. For the twelfth house individual the mother is
emotionally unavailable to nurture him-indeed. It could be that the person
may feel obligated to take care of the mother. If one is the product of a
mixed marriage or born outside the parents’
homeland, the individual may not know to which culture he belongs. This is
a source of sadness and
insecurity throughout the life. A twelfth house person feels secure when
alone, exploring the imagination. The psychic sensitivity is extreme and
under stressful transits, the personality reality may be subject to
invasion and intrusion. Usually this is a temporary condition.
Statement of Twelfth
House Moon
I
do not seem to belong. I seem to be blocked by all attempts toward
personal happiness. Perhaps this is because I do not really know who I am
and what I want other than to feel one with life. I shy away from intimacy
with other people and feel most at home with being alone and exploring my
imagination. I can easily identify with others and the hardships that they
face. I want to help others as best I can but I know I am not strong and
so escaping from life’s hardships into another reality often seems to be
the best solution. From this place I can sometimes bring though helpful
information.
