About
Megan: Before signing on to study with the D.K. Foundation, Megan did
her own research through books (Liz Greene, March & McEvers, Pottenger/Dobyns,
Rudhyar, Gail Fairfield, Stephen Arroyo). All of which she found very
insightful and to which she still refers.
Wanting to study with CPA (Centre for Psychological Astrology), she
discovered they did not have a correspondence course and so searched the
web and found there were over 4000 sites to choose from! She
narrowed it down to esoteric astrology which
is how she finds herself with us.

Megan
lives in California, USA and teaches dance and gymnastics to
children.

As well
as her astrological studies she is taking a natural healing course
and has a course in iridology lined up for the summer or 2003. She
considers that all these branches of study complement each other and
expects to take her astrological knowledge into the field of healing
eventually.

About
the Series Are you making the
Correct Statement
This
series is based upon the following assumptions:
1.)
The Sun is a star and not a planet. It is the representative of a higher
order than the planets and in the horoscope should be understood to stand
for the Egoic plane, through
which the first aspect of the soul expresses itself.
The
Sun represents our identity or who we understand ourself to be.
Developing that identity is the prime requirement of the lifetime.
This means expressing the qualities of the sign and being active in the
area of life in which the Sun is found and consciously linking in those
areas of life indicated by the house that the Sun rules accidentally.
The
Sun is the natural ruler of House 5 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply awareness of individuality and
creative capacity, qualities that traditionally the father encourages.
For
this reason, aspects to the Sun describe the experiences with the father
around the issue of developing and expressing identity.
2.)
The Moon is a satellite of the Earth and the relationship between the two
is one of mutual dependency as, energetically, it is fed by all that dies
on Earth and, in turn, regulates organic life on Earth through which life
takes form.
In
a horoscope, the Moon
represents the past - past forms, past identities, past experiences - that
are recorded in our psyche and expressed through our emotional
natures.
The
Moon also represents the mother, the function of whom is to preserve
continuity, and the home that is the place of shelter for the form.
For
this reason, aspects to the Moon describe the experiences with the mother
around the issue of receiving nurturing.
The
Moon is the natural ruler of House 4 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply the conditioning effect of the
past from the family, the culture of birth, racial heritage.
3)
Our Sun position describes our true identity.

Sun in
Leo
With
the Sun In Leo a person is developing the capacity to radiate and shine as
he expresses his
individuality. Creativity and
individuality are the reverse sides of the same coin. The individual is
learning through self-expression how one's creations can affect and
influence others. In the
Hadiths of the Prophet, Mohammed reports Allah as saying: 'I was an
unknown treasure and I longed to be known so I created the world that I
might be known'. This is what the Fifth house person does. Using his own
creative quota, he creates something that enables others to recognize his
worth. The fifth house individual may not develop talents and abilities
due to feelings of inadequacy and insignificance or become distracted by
the lure of recognition and compromises his integrity, but this house
always confers exceptional creative ability and the ability to shine.
Sun
in the Fifth House
The
fifth house is the House of Leo and relates to the process of using
personal talents and leadership abilities in creating that, which emanates
from the heart.
Statement
of the Fifth House Sun
I
entered this life to acknowledge the value of my own identity through the
development and creative use of my personal talents and leadership
abilities. As a child I found that there were people I liked and some I
didn't like. I wanted to be liked and accepted by the very best. I found
that I could imitate behaviors and attitudes of those who would get the
most attention. I thrived on excitement, taking risks, romance/sex and
drama. I eventually learned to use my own talents and leadership abilities
to gain attention and respect. I thought that the measure of appreciation
and respect I received from others validated my worth as an individual
until I became aware of the necessity to consider the needs and desires of
others. At which time, creativity took on a whole new meaning. It meant
that I could use my creative and leadership influence to participate with
others in creating a better world with more brightness, vitality, warmth
and goodwill. Then I saw
the point of myself and my life.
Moon
in Leo
With
the Moon in Leo an individual is instinctively cheerful, generous,
creative, fun, playful, natural with children and openly expressive of
personal views. The individual needs to be the center of attention, a
natural performer or leader who thrives on compliments, adulation and
loyalty. There is a tendency to react in a manner that demands attention
through self-dramatization and self-pity when insecure and stressed. The
mother would provide outlets for the individual to play and create. She
would encourage the child to perform in front of others. But, at times it
would seem as if she was the child demanding attention through
self-dramatization.
Moon
in the Fifth House
An
individual with the Moon in the fifth house has a memory of experiencing
some sort of fame or recognition. The challenge for the individual with
the Moon in the fifth house is to get passed the need for recognition and
to use creative and leadership abilities to serve others.
Statement
of Fifth House Moon
I
remember receiving acclamation and notoriety for my past performances and
creative output. I feel secure and self-assured when I am complimented and
recognized as someone special. I want to be loved and respected and when
this is withheld the light goes out and I feel
only resentment and sadness for which I am tempted to seek solace in
affairs, drink and other distractions.
