About
Megan: Before signing on to study with the D.K. Foundation, Megan did
her own research through books (Liz Greene, March & McEvers, Pottenger/Dobyns,
Rudhyar, Gail Fairfield, Stephen Arroyo). All of which she found very
insightful and to which she still refers.
Wanting to study with CPA (Centre for Psychological Astrology), she
discovered they did not have a correspondence course and so searched the
web and found there were over 4000 sites to choose from! She
narrowed it down to esoteric astrology which
is how she finds herself with us.

Megan
lives in California, USA and teaches dance and gymnastics to
children.

As well
as her astrological studies she is taking a natural healing course
and has a course in iridology lined up for the summer or 2003. She
considers that all these branches of study complement each other and
expects to take her astrological knowledge into the field of healing
eventually.

About
the Series Are you making the
Correct Statement
This
series is based upon the following assumptions:
1.)
The Sun is a star and not a planet. It is the representative of a higher
order than the planets and in the horoscope should be understood to stand
for the Egoic plane, through
which the first aspect of the soul expresses itself.
The
Sun represents our identity or who we understand ourself to be.
Developing that identity is the prime requirement of the lifetime.
This means expressing the qualities of the sign and being active in the
area of life in which the Sun is found and consciously linking in those
areas of life indicated by the house that the Sun rules accidentally.
The
Sun is the natural ruler of House 5 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply awareness of individuality and
creative capacity, qualities that traditionally the father encourages.
For
this reason, aspects to the Sun describe the experiences with the father
around the issue of developing and expressing identity.
2.)
The Moon is a satellite of the Earth and the relationship between the two
is one of mutual dependency as, energetically, it is fed by all that dies
on Earth and, in turn, regulates organic life on Earth through which life
takes form.
In
a horoscope, the Moon
represents the past - past forms, past identities, past experiences - that
are recorded in our psyche and expressed through our emotional
natures.
The
Moon also represents the mother, the function of whom is to preserve
continuity, and the home that is the place of shelter for the form.
For
this reason, aspects to the Moon describe the experiences with the mother
around the issue of receiving nurturing.
The
Moon is the natural ruler of House 4 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply the conditioning effect of the
past from the family, the culture of birth, racial heritage.
3)
Our Sun position describes our true identity.

Sun in
Gemini
With
the Sun in Gemini a person is developing the capacity to explore options,
and to learn the way things work in the world. The individual is learning
what are the physical and psychological boundaries in relation to the
environment by exploring a variety of experiences, gathering and
assimilating information, asking questions and learning how others think;
then, educating and communicating knowledge and understandings. The
individual tends to have a restless mind, dashing from one flighty
interest to another until there is knowledge of the consequences that
ensue. At which point the individual begins to focus on the quality of
personal experiences and the significance and usefulness of the thoughts
and words used to communicate.
Sun
in the Third House
The
third house is the House of Gemini and relates to the process of using the
mind to learn from the environment and to communicate.
Statement
of the Third House Sun:
I
entered this Life to learn all I can about my environment and to
communicate my thoughts and ideas to others. I became aware that words and
sounds related to each and everything that existed and I needed to use
words to express what my senses experienced. I found that I could use
words to get what I wanted. I found that the more words I knew and could
correlate with other things, people and places the more thoughts would
generate in my mind, and I could start putting together pieces of the
puzzle; the puzzle of life and everything in it and how it functions...and
how I fit in, or want to fit it. I need and want to understand how
everything fits together. My goal is to make use of all that I learn and
to communicate it to others in a way that they can understand and use. My
relationship with my siblings is preparation for this.
Moon
in Gemini
With
the Moon in Gemini an individual is instinctively curious, versatile,
witty, adaptable, mentally quick, helpful, logical, dexterous,
multi-dimensional; reacting in a restless, undependable, superficial,
talkative, easily distracted manner when insecure or stressed. The mother
would be helpful and teach many things but at times she may seem very
talkative or undependable, not always following through on her word and
largely unquestioning of the values and perspectives of the environment
into which she was herself born.
Moon
in the Third House
An
individual with the Moon in the third house has a memory of being part of
a culture and adapting to its rules and guidelines. The environment of
birth represents the known world and the challenge for the adult with the
Moon in the third house is to move out from the security of the familiar
environment of childhood that has fashioned his reality. There is a fear
of being challenged, both physically and intellectually. The mother
encourages the individual to cultivate appreciation of the family heritage
- in fact; the mother is usually wedded to her locality and to the culture
of her clan.
Statement
of Third House Moon:
I
remember being well educated in the duties and customs of my family. I
find comfort in communicating with my siblings and people with whom I have
much in common. I feel secure when I can speak my mind and express my
feelings and thoughts clearly and with certainty. I want to be surrounded
by intelligent, versatile and witty people of similar interests.
