About
Megan: Before signing on to study with the D.K. Foundation, Megan did
her own research through books (Liz Greene, March & McEvers, Pottenger/Dobyns,
Rudhyar, Gail Fairfield, Stephen Arroyo). All of which she found very
insightful and to which she still refers.
Wanting to study with CPA (Centre for Psychological Astrology), she
discovered they did not have a correspondence course and so searched the
web and found there were over 4000 sites to choose from! She
narrowed it down to esoteric astrology which
is how she finds herself with us.

Megan
lives in California, USA and teaches dance and gymnastics to
children.

As well
as her astrological studies she is taking a natural healing course
and has a course in iridology lined up for the summer or 2003. She
considers that all these branches of study complement each other and
expects to take her astrological knowledge into the field of healing
eventually.

About
the Series Are you making the
Correct Statement
This
series is based upon the following assumptions:
1.)
The Sun is a star and not a planet. It is the representative of a higher
order than the planets and in the horoscope should be understood to stand
for the Egoic plane, through
which the first aspect of the soul expresses itself.
The
Sun represents our identity or who we understand ourself to be.
Developing that identity is the prime requirement of the lifetime.
This means expressing the qualities of the sign and being active in the
area of life in which the Sun is found and consciously linking in those
areas of life indicated by the house that the Sun rules accidentally.
The
Sun is the natural ruler of House 5 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply awareness of individuality and
creative capacity, qualities that traditionally the father encourages.
For
this reason, aspects to the Sun describe the experiences with the father
around the issue of developing and expressing identity.
2.)
The Moon is a satellite of the Earth and the relationship between the two
is one of mutual dependency as, energetically, it is fed by all that dies
on Earth and, in turn, regulates organic life on Earth through which life
takes form.
In
a horoscope, the Moon
represents the past - past forms, past identities, past experiences - that
are recorded in our psyche and expressed through our emotional
natures.
The
Moon also represents the mother, the function of whom is to preserve
continuity, and the home that is the place of shelter for the form.
For
this reason, aspects to the Moon describe the experiences with the mother
around the issue of receiving nurturing.
The
Moon is the natural ruler of House 4 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply the conditioning effect of the
past from the family, the culture of birth, racial heritage.
3)
Our Sun position describes our true identity.

Sun
in Capricorn
With
the Sun in Capricorn a person needs to achieve a point of outstanding
accomplishment, spiritual and/or material. The individual needs to develop
a firm commitment and responsibility to take on the challenges that leads
to the kind of achievement that one strives for and for which one earns
recognition. The basic drive of Capricorn is to work one's way to the top
and to work unceasingly until it is reached, leaving little to luck or
chance. The Capricorn needs to explore the full range of potentials within
the confines of integrity and determine the best use of all resources that
can realistically improve the quality of life. At times there are
setbacks, and a feeling of despondency and of wanting to give up. But,
with a realistic vision along with a determination of purpose, the
individual can accomplish the goal, be fulfilled by this and respected for
it.
Sun
in the Tenth House
The
tenth house is the House of Capricorn and relates to the process of
organizing, establishing and achieving order in a chaotic structure.
Whether it is the structure of the individual, a home, a business,
organization, state or nation, a regulated system of rules or laws must be
followed and enforced for the safety and stability of the structure as a
whole. This process of managing and organizing all the parts of the whole
into a useful and functioning system is the focus of the tenth house.
Statement
of the Tenth House Sun
I
entered this life to learn the value of rules and laws and order in a
chaotic and disruptive system. As a child I had to follow a routine with
each day planned out into different time frames Time to brush my teeth, to
go to school or work, to play, to study, to eat and to sleep. My life was
organized, and rules were laid down by my parents, teachers and other
authorities of the community. For a while I became defiant of following
rules and doing something just because someone older said too. There were
things I wanted to accomplish and sometimes the rules would get in the
way. I challenged and questioned authority each step of the way to
fulfilling my potential. In time I reached a point where I was recognized
for my abilities and was given a responsible position in the supervision
of an organized system. I had to organize a plan with rules and guidelines
in order to meet the goals of the system. I found that each person
involved was a significant part of the process and it was up to me to make
sure that each one did their part appropriately, otherwise the system
would be disrupted and possibly fail. I cannot live without structure and
encourage my children to respect order and discipline also.
Moon
in Capricorn
With
the Moon in Capricorn an individual has the memory being in command of
others. The person is instinctively responsible, hard working, ambitious,
serious, realistic, cautious. This individual puts a lot of effort into
pursuing aims and goals. There is a tendency toward being in control,
demanding and inflexible with others when insecure and stressed. The
mother would be hard working and serious about doing what is best for the
child, but at times would be too restrictive and cautious and may not give
the child the time for exploration or personal expression.
It is notable (and often unexpected) that with the Moon in
Capricorn an individual may have outstanding psychic ability as, having
passed tests in material responsibility, he now has the freedom of the
astral plane.
Moon
in the Tenth House
An
individual with the Moon in the tenth house has a memory of having a
responsible position in society and being respected as an authority
figure. The mother would be very influential in preparing the child for
life's journey in a purposeful manner, and throughout the life female
authority figures are trusted and respected. Men with this placement of
the Moon seek out authoritative women for their partners. A tenth house
person feels secure when encouraged to work toward a specific goal that is
suitable to character of the individual. The challenge for this individual
is to not be discouraged by setbacks and to use all effort possible to
pursue and accomplish one's goals, no matter what obstacles there may be,
physical or psychological.
Statement
of Tenth House Moon
I
remember being in a position of power and of being responsible for my own
successes and failures. I earned respect when I was successful and lost it
when I failed. I need a specific goal to work toward and encouragement
that I can succeed. I fear failure and sometimes depression takes over and
I freeze. I need to find my place in society where I can work to improve
the system in some way. I seek inspiration from powerful and authoritative
women.
