About
Megan: Before signing on to study with the D.K. Foundation, Megan did
her own research through books (Liz Greene, March & McEvers, Pottenger/Dobyns,
Rudhyar, Gail Fairfield, Stephen Arroyo). All of which she found very
insightful and to which she still refers.
Wanting to study with CPA (Centre for Psychological Astrology), she
discovered they did not have a correspondence course and so searched the
web and found there were over 4000 sites to choose from! She
narrowed it down to esoteric astrology which
is how she finds herself with us.

Megan
lives in California, USA and teaches dance and gymnastics to
children.

As well
as her astrological studies she is taking a natural healing course
and has a course in iridology lined up for the summer or 2003. She
considers that all these branches of study complement each other and
expects to take her astrological knowledge into the field of healing
eventually.

About
the Series Are you making the
Correct Statement
This
series is based upon the following assumptions:
1.)
The Sun is a star and not a planet. It is the representative of a higher
order than the planets and in the horoscope should be understood to stand
for the Egoic plane, through
which the first aspect of the soul expresses itself.
The
Sun represents our identity or who we understand ourself to be.
Developing that identity is the prime requirement of the lifetime.
This means expressing the qualities of the sign and being active in the
area of life in which the Sun is found and consciously linking in those
areas of life indicated by the house that the Sun rules accidentally.
The
Sun is the natural ruler of House 5 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply awareness of individuality and
creative capacity, qualities that traditionally the father encourages.
For
this reason, aspects to the Sun describe the experiences with the father
around the issue of developing and expressing identity.
2.)
The Moon is a satellite of the Earth and the relationship between the two
is one of mutual dependency as, energetically, it is fed by all that dies
on Earth and, in turn, regulates organic life on Earth through which life
takes form.
In
a horoscope, the Moon
represents the past - past forms, past identities, past experiences - that
are recorded in our psyche and expressed through our emotional
natures.
The
Moon also represents the mother, the function of whom is to preserve
continuity, and the home that is the place of shelter for the form.
For
this reason, aspects to the Moon describe the experiences with the mother
around the issue of receiving nurturing.
The
Moon is the natural ruler of House 4 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply the conditioning effect of the
past from the family, the culture of birth, racial heritage.
3)
Our Sun position describes our true identity.

Sun in
Cancer
With
the Sun In Cancer a person is developing a sense of continuity. The
individual is learning through the connection with family how the past,
present and future are linked. The individual tends to have a binding
connection with mother and dependence on family as the source of personal
identity, and sentimentally clings to the past allowing self to be
controlled by the past and by tradition until, the individual forms an
inner foundation of self and independent identity. The individual
recognizes self and family as one with humanity. There is a continuity of
consciousness and an understanding of the connection of history with the
present and the possibilities of the future.
Sun
in the Fourth House
The
fourth house is the House of Cancer and relates to the process of
understanding one's past and the effect it has on one's present expression
of self and the need to nurture and sustain all that will be of value for
the future.
Statement
of the Fourth House Sun
I
entered this life to understand the connection of my identity with my
family and my past. My mother was the first connection I had in this world
and I had to depend on her to meet my needs for food, warmth, shelter,
guidance and whatever else I needed to sustain my life. I learned to walk
and talk and how to conduct myself in the home environment. I was a
product of the culture, race and heritage of my parents. I became aware of
the importance of family, but when I left home I found there was a world
that was vastly different. There were different cultures and ways of
living. I could choose my own way and establish my own home. My sense of
family extended to include people of all cultures, race and beliefs. My
goal is to acknowledge myself, and my family as individuals in the family
of humanity and from there, to nurture the world. My relationship with my
parents, provide the basic fundamental psychological (emotional) patterns
from which I operate. It is up to me to recognize this and with this
understanding, release unwanted instinctive tendencies and sustain and
nurture the aspects of self that I value.
Moon
in Cancer
With
the Moon in Cancer an individual is instinctively sympathetic, nurturing,
comforting, with a strong feeling nature, which can be strongly influenced
or manipulated by the parents. The tendency is to react in a moody,
self-defensive, manipulating, brooding manner when insecure and stressed.
The mother would create a warm atmosphere at home and be comforting,
sympathetic, and consoling, creating a close bond with the individual; but
at times she may be smothering, temperamental, overly protective.
Moon
in the Fourth House
An
individual with the Moon in the fourth house has a memory of being part of
a past that has its roots in heredity and sustaining the family lineage.
Therefore the individual tends to be emotionally attached and identified
to family.
There
is an interest in one's personal past and family history. The challenge
for the individual with the Moon in the fourth house is to uproot one's
sense of identity from the family clan, and to take root on one's own
soil.
This
placement of the Moon gives a strong connection to the collective
unconscious and to the memory held in place. Individuals with the Moon in
this house usually make excellent dowsers.
Statement
of Fourth House Moon:
I
remember having a close-knit family and especially strong emotional ties
with mother. I find comfort in caring for and nurturing plants, animals
and people. I feel secure when I have a home with a close family and am
surrounded by memorabilia that reminds me of happy times. I want to feel
connected.
