About
Megan: Before signing on to study with the D.K. Foundation, Megan did
her own research through books (Liz Greene, March & McEvers, Pottenger/Dobyns,
Rudhyar, Gail Fairfield, Stephen Arroyo). All of which she found very
insightful and to which she still refers.
Wanting to study with CPA (Centre for Psychological Astrology), she
discovered they did not have a correspondence course and so searched the
web and found there were over 4000 sites to choose from! She
narrowed it down to esoteric astrology which
is how she finds herself with us.

Megan
lives in California, USA and teaches dance and gymnastics to
children.

As well
as her astrological studies she is taking a natural healing course
and has a course in iridology lined up for the summer or 2003. She
considers that all these branches of study complement each other and
expects to take her astrological knowledge into the field of healing
eventually.

About
the Series Are you making the
Correct Statement
This
series is based upon the following assumptions:
1.)
The Sun is a star and not a planet. It is the representative of a higher
order than the planets and in the horoscope should be understood to stand
for the Egoic plane, through
which the first aspect of the soul expresses itself.
The
Sun represents our identity or who we understand ourself to be.
Developing that identity is the prime requirement of the lifetime.
This means expressing the qualities of the sign and being active in the
area of life in which the Sun is found and consciously linking in those
areas of life indicated by the house that the Sun rules accidentally.
The
Sun is the natural ruler of House 5 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply awareness of individuality and
creative capacity, qualities that traditionally the father encourages.
For
this reason, aspects to the Sun describe the experiences with the father
around the issue of developing and expressing identity.
2.)
The Moon is a satellite of the Earth and the relationship between the two
is one of mutual dependency as, energetically, it is fed by all that dies
on Earth and, in turn, regulates organic life on Earth through which life
takes form.
In
a horoscope, the Moon
represents the past - past forms, past identities, past experiences - that
are recorded in our psyche and expressed through our emotional
natures.
The
Moon also represents the mother, the function of whom is to preserve
continuity, and the home that is the place of shelter for the form.
For
this reason, aspects to the Moon describe the experiences with the mother
around the issue of receiving nurturing.
The
Moon is the natural ruler of House 4 and so its
expression in a horoscope will always imply the conditioning effect of the
past from the family, the culture of birth, racial heritage.
3)
Our Sun position describes our true identity.

Sun
in Aquarius
With
the Sun in Aquarius a person is learning to be a team player. The
individual needs to recognize that we are all on this boat of life
together and we need to decide where we are going and make it a united
effort to get there. The basic urge of Aquarius is to think in terms of
‘us’ and ‘we’ being unique individuals participating together in
an evolving scheme. The Aquarian tends to explore the uniqueness of self
through an idealistic vein. The challenge for the Aquarian is to actually
follow through on the ideas or visions that are perceived and would be
beneficial for the collective society.
Sun
in the Eleventh House
The
eleventh house is the House of Aquarius and relates to the process of
integrating with individuals, unique unto oneself, as a unified group,
with the intention to change and reform any social condition or situation
that needs renovation, help or a new vision. The individual is drawn
toward friendships and groups of people of similar ideals rather than
social status or similar background. The danger is when the ideals of the
group do not take in the whole picture and there is a determination to
fight for the shortsighted cause of the group at any cost or when group
interests and individual ambition are out of balance. The need to
participate and integrate ideas and visions with the evolving movement of
humanity for the purpose of the social expansion of consciousness and
improvement of the existing state of affairs is the focus of the eleventh
house.
Statement
of the Eleventh House Sun
I
entered this life to improve the social structure and reform social
conditions in whatever manner I am able. When I was young I noticed that
people were different in color, race, wealth, temperament, beliefs,
vocations etc. For a while I avoided those who were not of my social or
racial status. I associated myself with people of similar background and
interest as mine and categorized people according to their race, culture,
financial status and reputation. My life circumstances brought me into
closer contact with a variety of people through school, work and social
gatherings. I found that the people I met, no matter what their appearance
or status, had the same concerns that I had, but some had a more difficult
time because they were impoverished or shunned by the social
establishment. I thought that the alienation of these people was
unjustified and I decided to connect with them and do something to change
the impoverished conditions and change the perception of the
establishment. I would either join forces with others to speak out against
humanitarian abuse and fight for equal rights and better health for all,
or I would use my skills and talents to invent or work with technology
that can advance the quality of the community and gain recognition for it.
Moon
in Aquarius
With
the Moon in Aquarius an individual has a memory of participating as an
individual with others for freedom and social change. The person tends to
be unrestricted and unconventional in thought, lifestyle and appearance.
The person is instinctively individualistic, holistic, inventive, unique,
humanitarian, forward looking. This individual seeks friends with similar
ideals. There is a tendency toward being indifferent and aloof when
insecure and stressed. There is a tendency to be rebellious when there is
a feeling of being moulded or told what to do. The mother who is probably
intellectually inclined and interested in advanced ideas would get the
child involved in group activities and events, and may be so involved with
community work of some kind that she probably would not have much time to
spend with the child.
Moon
in the Eleventh House
An
individual with the Moon in the eleventh house has a memory of being
supported by a communal way of life and tends to build a network of
associations that can allow the individual to feel welcome everywhere. The
mother would be very liberating and would use the most progressive methods
possible to give the child a chance to integrate into society as a unique,
useful member. An eleventh house person feels secure when surrounded by
friends and is able to express individual creativity through group
participation. Often the individual will fear to shine for fear of
becoming isolated from his or her peers and young people with this
placement may underachieve at school for this reason. The Moon in the
eleventh house often indicates a parent who is in public service through
the armed services, the police force or other civil service and there is a
strong public service ethics in the family.
Statement
of Eleventh House Moon
I
remember that the company of like-minded people was important for survival
and for my sense of purpose. I am uneasy with standing out from the crowd
but my friends can help me feel that I am understood and accepted for who
I am and what I have to offer. I am interested in the most progressive
styles and technology and tend to focus on future possibilities. I join
groups that focus upon the interests of the coming generation and feel
most at home with unconventional friends with whom I can share my ideas. I
can feel suffocated in one-to-one relationships but welcome the sense of
camaraderie brought by the arrival of the children.
