As each person came to mind I would take a deep inhale and on the exhale breathe compassion into my
perception of them. At first friends and family came to mind, and then the
impoverished and the wealthy, the sick and the healthy,
political leaders, ethnic groups, humanity as a whole, our Earth
and beyond and those who guide us.
I found that compassion is much different than feeling
sorry for someone. Compassion is love energy of unconditional acceptance
and promise of truth. For beyond the fears and doubts, which are the
illusions that we bury ourselves in, is the truth of our creative
potential that we share with all creation. Acknowledging that potential in
others and ourselves opens the heart and is a key to our givingness. We
may not know that this has any effect, but as I continued this idea
throughout the day I received many smiles of acknowledgement.
Feeling sorry for your self or anyone accepts the illusion
as real and belittles the truth. Each
negative state of existence is reflective of the illusion of inferiority
or superiority that guilt, fear and doubt hold us to. Courage to know the
truth release us from it into an integrated flow of creation. Compassion
is the awareness that this is true.
When I felt resistance or a block, I gave compassion to
myself and what I was feeling and the block disappeared and I was able to
send compassion to the one in which there was resistance. I realized that
compassion is a means of forgiveness and forgiveness is the means of
freedom from each illusion.
