‘ The Ten Commandments on Everyday Living: 8’
Do not meet anger with anger

Assertiveness is a skill taught by many personal development experts and psychotherapists and the subject of many popular self-help books. It is linked to self-esteem and considered an important communication skill. It is the middle road between anger and submissiveness. Assertive people are less likely to become ill; suppress too much anger and the emotion will solidify in the form of gallstones. Anger stagnates the liver energy and our blood may become more toxic because of it with all its related problems. Being assertive is stating your point clearly without any drama or emotion attached to it. The message becomes much louder and easier to understand to the other party and clear communication takes place. Take responsibility for your feelings: avoid blaming the other person for your anger. ‘You made me angry’ is saying that the other person has control over your emotions and you haven’t. Ultimately, you have allowed yourself to feel it. Would it not be much more harmonious not to have to react with anger. Try and find that equilibrium within. If anger is directed at you, most times, it is the other persons fear or loss of control around an issue and maybe we should try and help them with that.
These Bush Flower Essences below can help to diffuse and transform anger. Take single remedies or combinations of the ones needed. 7 drops twice daily
for 3-4 weeks.

Mountain Devil – (Lambertia Formosa)

This plant gets its common name from the double-horned fruit, which resembles a devil’s head. It has sharp, pointy leaves that are piercing and painful
This essence can be used for all conditions in which there is a lack of love or acceptance. It is for people who blame others and don’t take responsibility for their own feelings and project their frustrations and anger out into the world
They can be spiteful, bitter, aggressive and hold resentment. It can be a good remedy for jealousy and sibling rivalry. This remedy clears away hatred, anger and other feelings, which prevent love and acceptance to shine through.

Dagger Hakea – (Hakea Teretifolia)

This straggly shrub has many different varieties and has white to cream flowers, which have a beautiful perfume. The fruits are shaped like a dagger and the branches have needle-like leaves. The plant is prickly and so it is also a remedy for prickly people, for those who are sharp with words but tend to suppress their anger. It is for people who hold grudges and who’s anger comes out as resentment.

People may appear sweet-natured but harbour a lot of anger behind the façade. This essence will help you to work through your feelings of anger and bitterness and the forgiveness process can begin.
