‘ The Ten Commandments on Everyday Living: 6’
Show appreciation to others at every opportunity

Today, in our busy lives, we have the tendency to become more and more self-absorbed. Our roles have multiplied in the last 30 years and multi-tasking is the order of the day. To stay conscious of others is therefore difficult at times, as our heads are full of worries and preoccupations of daily cares as well as the demands made on us by the people who we live with. It is hard not to appear selfish at times when we are trying to get a bit of space for ourselves and we are trying to get everything done as well as look after others. That selfish appearance can come across as ‘feeling hard done by’; The more we feel hard done by, the more our children will act out that they are hard done by and so we are perpetuating this scenario. To receive appreciation, we need to show appreciation. When we show appreciation to others, they are likely to feel better about themselves and this in return will have a positive effect.
“Change the world; begin with yourself”.

Bush Gardenia – (Gardenia Megasperma)

This is a tree of up to 9 meters in height and the flowers are around 4-5 cm in diameter with nine petals. The fruit contains many sweet and juicy seeds which are edible.
The essence of this flower helps people to find a more loving relationship with themselves as well as with others. It helps to renew interest in others and so can also be useful in relationships where we have taken the other partner for granted or when a couple have become too preoccupied with their own lives.

This flower has 9 petals and this number in numerology represents humanitarian concern – concern for others as a whole.
Ian White states: it is as if this essence helps to turn the individuals’ head to face one another and see what the other is doing and feeling.
Freshwater Mangrove – (Barringtonia Acutangula)

This tree is found in large parts of Australia, Southeast Asia, India and Afghanistan. Aborigines use the substance that is released by crushing the leaves and bark and placing the mixture in water to stun fish making it easy to catch them. Caterpillars live underneath the leaves, which produce intense itching when coming into contact with. The tree is sometimes called Itchy Tree. This Bush Flower Essence will help to dissolve any prejudice that has been taught by others, not experienced by self. It is for the person who has already made up their minds about someone or something without having experienced it themselves.

Our children who take on our ideas and prejudices are a good example – when they grow up they are likely to still have these ideas. This essence opens the heart and removes the mental prejudice.
The itching aspect of the tree is a representation of the mental irritability that prejudices can produce within.
Philotheca – (Philotheca Salsolifolia)
This essence is for people who are unable to accept appreciation and acknowledgement from others for who they are and let love in from others. People needing this essence are often generous, giving and good listeners, but they have trouble acknowledging and accepting themselves and are often shy.

Gymea Lily
“can also be good for people who are too dominant, arrogant, extrovert and maybe attention seeking. They usually get their own way. They can come across as menacing to people who are much less confident. It will help to temper their force and help them to become aware of other’s feelings and allow others to participate and contribute. It helps them to find humility.”

Recommended dosage: 7 drops morning and night for 3-4 weeks
